DO YOU KNOW?
Hospice East Rand was
founded in 1986.

Hospice funding is an ongoing concern as no government grants or funding is received. Every hospice is autonomous in terms of fundraising.

Currently Hospice East Rand runs nine charity shops and a book shop. Various fund raising events are organised and held by hospice including two fetes per year. However, hospice still relies on the support and generosity of the public to maintain its facilities and for expansion projects such as our Care Centre in Vosloorus.

Donations of any kind are gratefully accepted. There are many ways that you can be of help to hospice:

Monetary donations to Hospice East Rand can be made in cash, by cheque or electronic transfer. Banking details are as follows:
      ABSA Bank - Benoni
Branch Code: 630242
Account name: Hospice East Rand
Account number: 0710465673

Bequests left to the organisation are deeply valued. Should you wish to make a bequest, please contact our Administration Manager, Mrs Brenda Bisschoff on 011 422 1531, or by email.
Medical equipment is lent out to home care patients to assist with their care. Certain items, such as, wheelchairs, mattresses, sheepskins and walkers are always in great need by patients and a donation of an item of this nature is very valuable. Our Nursing Administration Coordinator, Lyndsey Prinsloo, can be contacted for further information on 011 422 1531.
Charity shop items are always needed for resale. Good quality items, such as pots, pans, crockery, cutlery, linen, curtains, mens, ladies and childrens clothing, furniture, electrical items (in working order), ornaments and bric-a-brac are gratefully accepted. Our charity shops supply valuable funding towards our day to day running expenses. Items can be delivered to the nearest shop, if this is not possible contact hospice on 011 422 1531.
Books, DVDs and CDs are sold at the book shop on our Benoni premises. Other than suppling much needed income, this facility also serves as a library for hospice patients. Donations can be delivered to the book shop or the nearest charity shop.
Day to day consumables such as food items, toilet rolls, tissues, paper towels, adult napkins etc. are tremendous help. Kindly refer to the wish list for specific items in need.
Goods and services for maintenance are required from time to time. Hospice will advertise these needs on their WISH LIST. Anybody wishing to register their name to supply ad hoc services can do so by contacting hospice on 011 422 1531.
Membership fees are R50 per annum. If you wish to become a member of hospice kindly complete the membership form. These fees greatly assist with the cost of producing our Hospice Times newsletter. Fees may be paid in cash, by cheque or electronic transfer.
